Anyone else besides me doing the Allaire Show this Sunday, weather permitting?
We're going to be out in PA this weekend, unfortunately. Looks like you're going to have much cooler weather this year than we had last year! Have fun. :D
I wish we could be there - it'll be more fun than what we'll be doing: hauling boxes and stuff into a dorm room...

Well, look on the bright side (maybe...), you should only have to do this once. Next year she can go up by herself... although I know Nancy only needs 1/2 an excuse to visit Roch.. :wink:

No, but there is a huge cross-country MINI drive going on that started in Monterey CA and is eventually ending up in Limerock CT on Monday. They're passing through NJ on Sunday and we're heading over to meet up with some of them for lunch on Sunday. There are over 800 MINIs signed up to do the leg from Washington DC up to Jersey City, so if they all actually show up, there will be a big MINI invasion on Sunday! Of course, only a much smaller number of those are actually doing the lunch with us.
Besides, they're talking about the possibility of rain this weekend thanks to that hurrican/tropical storm down in the Caribbean right now.

Allaire postponed again today. Many trees down and the park is still flooded. Now re-scheduled for Sunday Sept. 17.

Suggestion - assuming this show goes off as planned next Sunday - with no rain - Nancy and I are planning to drive over to the Circus Drive-In on rt 35 in Wall afterwards for dinner. Anyone want to join us?
The Circus Drive-In is an original 50's drive-in "burger joint" - it's nearly unchanged since it opened over 50 years ago. They were featured recently on the food network as one of america's original 50's drive-in restaurants...

I'll be away Sep 16 thru 27, which means I'll miss the Ocean Grove, Allaire and Summit shows. I hope to replace the rubber fuel lines in the engine bay in time for the Jim Thorpe Run. :pray:

According to their own website, the Circus Drive-In should be called the Circus Drive-By since they say they are closed for this season, and will re-open Spring 2007! Question now is: Can Paul wait till then? :lol:

were in the new volvo on our way back from boston right now hopefully when we get there we'll be able to get into our driveway (towns putting in new sidewalk) and ill be able to wash the car but in any case washed or not I'll be there

Looks like it was a great day for a show. Sorry we couldn't make it. I had to do some chores and then helped Robyn with some sewing projects.
Plus, I was more tired than I expected to be after a good day of wrenching on a friend's MINI (Paul - installed the StopTech BBK on Manny's car... sort of a last minute decision... damn, they look good)
Well, on Saturday I worked on my E to get it ready for this show - did an oil change, not because the oil was dirty but it was last fall since I changed it. Also cleaned the car up a bit and charged the battery - apparently I've driven the car so little this year that the battery died. I checked my log book and the last time I put gas in it was May!
Anyhow, late Saturday night my folks called and said they needed me to come over and help them out with some things on Sunday - so that cancelled my plans of attending. :(
Scott called me Sunday morning because he was holding a spot for me - sorry about that Scott - I truly would have rather have been there for the day, but sometimes you just gotta do whatcha gotta do...
I did get to take the car out though - drove the long way out to my folks place heading west out through Jackson, (where I saw a nice RED Spitfire for sale) into Plumstead and then turn south on 539 to Whiting. Nice roads, hopefully we can have a club drive through that area sometime...
the show was pretty good two cars that stood out are were a shelby and a stanley steamer to be honest it was actually very uneventful i saw all the car s in about a half hour and spent the rest of the day sitting in the car doing homework. i ended up leaving before the trophys. so you didnt miss much
I saw that Stanley Steamer in action at the Monmouth County Fair show one year - pretty cool to see it drive away...
Well, you certainly had much nicer weather for this year's show than we had last year!
I wonder if that steamer is the same one I've seen out at Das Awkscht Fescht. :hm:
